   :"LATE AFTERNOON,DINNER SOON!"

It was close to 5 PM when I started this Plein air painting. At first it was to be just the tennis ball then Sammy came and reclined! The light was still interesting so I continued. I had a brush style with oils and I find it coming back with each painting..

This is a 6" x 6" x 1.5" canvas block and painted all around creating that 3D effect. I love this piece and as long as I do it as the Daily painting. you will get a good price.

Finally and I'm pleased.  The finished Graphite piece is 11" x 7" on 300 lb hot press watercolor paper. I will be having it matted before someone needs a Sweet Muse on their wall.

LABRADOR RETRIEVER CONTINUING SKETCH SHEILA WEDEGIS DAY 30 ,2012

  The continuing drawing of my Muse. Working today on a commission I finally was able to work on my daily piece. I started to shade in the opposite side redrawing again areas that needed correction.  When I finish I will show you my reference photo and you can be the judge.

Tomorrow morning I am doing a plein air painting with the group I joined . Show and tell tomorrow evening..Day 31!

Yes this is my Sophie.  For the next few days I will be working on this to see where it goes. Not sure if I'll do a wash or pencil?? Ink? Marker? It's on watercolor paper so watercolor?

So drop back and see what happens. 

I draw free hand using my pencil or what ever I am using at the time to measure and correct my proportions. I've been doing it for so long it's fast. I did try to project an image on a canvas to see if it would speed thing up but the results looked traced and dead. Free hand drawing for me means whatever I am feeling about the subject will come through into the artwork.

Yes it's an older Painting. I'm working non stop on a way passed due project that needs to be finished this coming week for sure. It's hanging on me like a rock. (The guilt)

I did take lunch out with a fellow artist for 2 hours and stopped by GoodWill. I was standing holding this really fun tweed jacket and a woman at the counter who was having a tough time getting her items returned and new items processed, grabbed my jacket and bought it with her things so the amount was correct on her returned items. She then handed me the jacket and said Happy New Year!! A super fun thing!!!

I found a woman on etsy who remodels jackets to be funky and fun so I'm thinking that's where my new found gift will go. woohoo!!!

"SO ,IF THE WIND BLOWS JUST A BIT MORE..."

It was hard getting a good photo and color for some reason today.  The ball is definitely yellower. Sigh.

He plots and plans in order to make the best choice for getting that ball. Sometimes he will jump, other times he uses his paw to bring it closer so he can grab it with his mouth. Wise boy!!

Oh sweet babies. They play hard and rough then settle and sleep together.  Of course what you are not seeing is the mess on the floor after they have brought everything from the outside in! That's why God invented brooms and tile floors I guess. Thankfully.

When our Sammy dives he does a spread eagle into the pool. Nose first!!
